Ejercicios Resueltos de Used To Inglés 3 ESO

Ejercicios de used to de Inglés de 3º de ESO resueltos y explicados. Sirve para hablar de costumbres y situaciones del pasado que ya no se dan: I used to play the piano (antes tocaba el piano; ahora no). Hay ejercicios de la forma, de used to frente a would y frente al past simple, y de be used to y get used to, que significan otra cosa.

Ejercicios de used to para 3º de ESO con soluciones

1. La forma de used to

Afirmativa: used to + infinitivo. Negativa: didn’t use to. Pregunta: Did … use to …? (sin -d).

1Completa: «When I was a child, I ____ (live) in a small village» · «My grandparents ____ (have) a farm».

«I used to live» · «My grandparents used to have a farm». Igual para todas las personas.

2Pon en negativa y en pregunta: «Óscar used to wear a uniform».

Negativa: «Óscar didn’t use to wear a uniform». Pregunta: «Did Óscar use to wear a uniform?» — «Yes, he did.»
Con did, sin -d: use to.

3Escribe cómo has cambiado: «Now I like vegetables» (antes no) · «Now I don’t watch cartoons» (antes sí).

2. Used to, past simple y would



used to: hábitos y estados repetidos o largos. past simple: algo que pasó una vez. would: hábitos (acciones) del pasado, pero no estados.

4¿Cuál está bien? «I used to break my arm when I was eight» · «I broke my arm when I was eight».

La segunda: I broke my arm. Romperse el brazo pasó una vez: va en past simple. used to es para lo que se repetía o duraba.

5¿Se puede usar would? «Every summer we ____ go to the beach» · «I ____ have long hair».

Ver solución
· «Every summer we would go to the beach» ✓ (acción repetida; también used to).
· «I used to have long hair» (no would): tener el pelo largo es un estado, no una acción.

3. Be used to y get used to

be used to + -ing: estar acostumbrado. get used to + -ing: acostumbrarse. Pueden ir en cualquier tiempo.

6Completa: «I’m used to ____ (get) up early» · «You’ll soon get used to ____ (live) in a big city».

«I’m used to getting up early» · «You’ll get used to living in a big city». Detrás va -ing, porque to aquí es una preposición.

7Elige used to, be used to o get used to: «My dad ____ smoke, but he stopped» · «Nurses ____ working at night» · «It took me months to ____ the cold weather».

«My dad used to smoke» (hábito que ya no tiene) · «Nurses are used to working at night» (están acostumbradas) · «to get used to the cold weather» (acostumbrarse).

4. Corregir, traducir y escribir

8Corrige: «I use to go to that school when I was ten» · «Are you used to work at night?»

9Traduce: «Solía jugar al fútbol en el parque» · «No estoy acostumbrada a este ruido».

Dudas frecuentes

¿Cuándo se usa used to?

Para hábitos (I used to swim every day) y situaciones (She used to live in Lugo) del pasado que ya no ocurren. Si solo pasó una vez, va en past simple.

¿Qué diferencia hay entre used to y would?

Los dos sirven para hábitos del pasado, pero would solo con acciones (We would go fishing), nunca con estados o posesiones: no se dice I would have a dog sino I used to have a dog.
